What this service may not be used for

Sending unsolicited advertisements by fax is prohibited here and is unlawful in the United States under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Junk Fax Prevention Act. Liability for a junk fax falls on the sender. Using this service for one is a breach of these terms and does not shift that liability to us.

• —Bulk or repeated sending to recipients who have not asked to hear from you
• —Sending content that is unlawful, fraudulent, or intended to harass or threaten the recipient
• —Impersonating another person or organization as the sender
• —Sending material you have no right to send
• —Automating, scraping or otherwise using the service other than through the website as a person
• —Deliberately sending to a number you know is not the intended recipient's

We rate-limit behavior that looks like bulk sending and monitor for repeated patterns from the same source. We retain enough non-content metadata — destinations, timing, volume — to investigate a complaint, and we will provide it where the law requires. We do not read your documents to do this and we cannot: they are destroyed on the schedule in the retention policy.

Where we conclude the service is being misused we will refuse transmissions and, where a transmission has not completed, release any authorization rather than take payment for it.

US rules require certain fax transmissions to identify the sender. Where a transmission requires a sender identifier, the responsibility for its accuracy sits with you as the sender of the document.

If you received a fax you believe was sent through this service in breach of this policy, write to support@faxmydoc.com with the date, time and receiving number. Include the transmission header if your machine printed one.
