Terms of service

These terms cover your use of FaxMyDoc, operated by CWM Digital LLC. Using the service means you accept them.

What the service does

You upload a document, we convert it into fax-compatible pages and transmit it to the US fax number you specify, and we give you a record of what happened. One transmission, one destination, up to 20 pages, $4.99 charged once.

There is no account, no subscription and no ongoing relationship. We do not receive faxes, provide you a fax number, or send outside the United States.

You choose the destination

The fax number is yours to supply and yours to verify. We transmit to the number you enter. We do not look numbers up and we do not check that a number belongs to the organization you named. A transmission to a wrong number may still be confirmed, and is not a failure of the service.

What a confirmation means

“Transmission confirmed” means the receiving fax system answered and acknowledged the pages shown on your record. It does not confirm that a person reviewed the document, that the recipient organization routed or accepted it, or that any filing requirement or deadline was legally satisfied. Nothing on this site should be read as a promise about how a recipient handles what you send.

Payment

Your card is authorized when you press send and charged only once a transmission is confirmed. If the transmission does not complete after our automatic retries, the authorization is released and you are not charged. There are no recurring charges, stored cards or credits.

If an operational problem causes a charge for a transmission that did not complete, tell us and we will return it.

Your document

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us permission to process and transmit it only for the purpose of sending your fax. It is destroyed 24 hours after transmission under the retention policy, so keep your own copy.

You confirm you have the right to send what you upload, and that sending it does not break the law. Prohibited uses are listed in acceptable use, and breaching that policy ends your permission to use the service.

Availability and reliability

Fax is old infrastructure and transmissions fail for reasons outside anyone’s control — busy lines, machines out of paper, numbers that have been reassigned. We retry automatically and we tell you the truth about the result. We do not guarantee that any particular transmission will succeed, or that the service will be available at a particular moment.

Regulated information

We do not market this service as HIPAA compliant and it should not be used by a covered entity to transmit protected health information. See security.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim arising out of your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the transmission the claim relates to. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including a missed deadline, a rejected filing, or any consequence of a document reaching or failing to reach a recipient.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as they are permitted.

Changes and contact

If these terms change we will update the review date below. The terms in force when you send a fax govern that transmission.
